Inspector Barker entered the room and the first thing he saw was the giant poster. It was a huge photo of a famous tennis player Rafali Feduprer crouched in a classic serving position- the tennis ball at the tips of his extended fingers of his right hand- body poised to send down one of those thundering serves that so terrorised his opponents.



Then Barkers eyes moved down to the body slumped over the writing table. It was Rafali Feduprer- and he was obviously dead.



The butler stood next to his body. “My poor master is dead.” he wept. “He has killed himself and left all his money to me. Oh why did he do it? And see it is written in the suicide note there on the floor. I saw him writing it, but I was too late to stop him from shooting himself. Oh woe is me- what a horrible thing I’ve seen today” and he began to howl and weep. It was truly a pitiful site. Rafali Feduprer’s famous right hand now clutched the pen he had used to write the suicide note. The note had fallen to the ground and the gun was lying next to it. He had obviously shot himself as soon as the note had been written. Barker bent down and studied the evidence.

“Stop that awful noise butler”, he barked imperiously. “I arrest you for the murder of Rafali Feduprer.

Question: Why did Inspector Barker suspect the Butler of murdering Rafali Feduprer?



 

I gues that....that player was left handed as he held the ball by it & served by right.....& when he was dead the pen was in his right hand......so it is clear that sum1 had put the pen in his hand.....

Rafali Feduprer’s famous right hand now clutched the pen he had used to write the suicide note. The note had fallen to the ground and the gun was lying next to it. He had obviously shot himself as soon as the note had been writtten.........................................

How did he have the pen in his hand even though he shot himself after he wrote the note..This shows that he could not have shot himself.....ie the butler shot him and left the pen in his hand to remove any suspicion.Also the butler claims that he was left with all the wealth of the tennis player which is highly suspicious. hence the detective suspected him
