3 EQUALLY wise sages of wich 1 is to be chosen as fit for palace... they are made to wear hats of either blue and white and one must tell what colour is the hat he wears but they dont know the hat of their colour. if one drops his hat to look at it .. he is killed... if one ans wrong... all are killed
conditons a sage can look at the other sages hat.
there has to be 1 blue among them so ther can be 3 blue or 2bl and 1 w and 1bl and 2 w
after MANY HOURS all looked totally confused suddenly one got up and answered right.. What did he answer and his logic
Clues i dont have a capslock error
and BTW they cant whisper it to each other cuz they have socs in their mouths... 1 cant see his hat in their eyes... floor is not a reflective one and any of those things are not there so just write the logic please....

is it witty question or a scientific riddle? we could say they didnt know the answer for many hours and were confused.. so they were feeling BLUE :) if u know what i mean.
or in scientific way maybe they were still feeling their heads to be as cool or warm as in the begining becos of white colour of hats...

as u say there are three possibilties--- B B B B B W B W W third one is not possible as the one wearing a b hat can just see other two hats and as the r white he has B so he ca say it instantly.....
Now also 2 nd case is not possible cause if there are two B B and one W then the one wearin B can see others a B W and answer his as B after some time if no one answers insantly (to confirm tht 3 rd case is wong..) now there is only 1st case hence he answers and gets right.....hope my answer is correct...

the sage in front guesses the color of his hat......blue. let the sages in order be A, B and C. if A and B were wearing white, C would immediately have guessed that he was wearing blue..therefore, one of them was wearing a blue hat which B would have realized owing to C's silence. And if A was wearing white, B would have guessed that he was wearing a blue hat. Since he too couldn't answer immediately, it follows that A was wearing a blue hat. A deduced that because of the prolonged silence and answered finally.

the logic applied by ananth_patri would have been my answer.....but the word EQUALLY suggests that all the 3 r wearing hats of the same colour n tht has 2 be blue as per the condition.................!!!!!!!!!!

Consider the three to A , B , C assume they r standing in 1 row one behind the other C being the last C can see the colours of A and B now if they were both white he would have himself told the answer as blue on his head as there has to b atleast 1 blue so it was some other combination next come to B.assume he sees a white on A's head now comes the point. If A is white and still C coudnt answer implies B was for sure blue because otherwise Cwud have himself told the answer so A could not have been white all this goes on in his head so he comes with the answer that he is wearing blue
