The two children in a house are twins. One will tell only truth. Other will tell only false. But they look alike.
Now one day, you are going to their house. One of the twins is coming out. But you don't know which one.
Your task is to find out from the child whether the father is in the house just by asking a clever single question. The question should be such that without knowing the identity of the child you should get the information.
So, what will be your question ?

Ram-liar
Shyam-Harishchandra
ask whoever comes "Are you harishchandra?"
Ram will say no and Shyam will say yes

IS UR FATHER "XYZ" INSIDE THE HOUSE?
truth telling boy will tell yes or no..
liar will tell
no mr. xyz is not my father...and he will tell yes/no he is in the house....opposite of wat said by him will be true...

Very simple. U jus ask the boy, "If i ask ur brother whether ur father is at home or not, what will he tell ?"
Whatever this boy tells, u need to understand that it is the opposite of the actual situation. We need not find who is who. Jus need to find whether their father is at home or not.
This more like a boolean algebra qsn.
Assume that truth(+) speaking boy comes out. When u ask that qsn, he'll think what his liar(-) brother will say and tell something.
U need to do the opposite.
+*- = -
Even if liar boy comes out,
-*+ = -
So, whatever the answer is, u need to do its minus (opposite).
Hence solved.

Dude, You have made one assumption that twin brothers know very well about other brother's charactor !!
So instead, why the question can't be like this:
If I ask you whether your father is in the house, will your answer be 'yes' ?
Here both will answer yes if father is there and no if father is not there. Anyway your answer is correct and I have rated.
