Every kivd of potential has a field associated with it.e.g gravitational,electrial e.t.c
What can u say about the field due 2 the potential energy in a ball kept at a height???

ur answer lies in your question itself.
in ur examples you mentioned grav field.
bingo! thats the answer.
the potential energy of the ball is defined as its mass multiplied by the grav pot. at that point.........
so, there IS a field there... the gravitational field due to the earth.

Your confusion is because we assume g to be constant because of very small heights compared to the radius of the earth...
If it were, the potential energy is GMm/h and not mgh...

yep hes right. gravitation potential energy is associated with the gravitational field.
