how do we solve really lenghty calculations.... take for example 128574*73781*736472 in the short time that we have during the entr. exams??

such calculations will not appear in entrance exams....

Use binomial some approximations
I will say this number is 1.3*7.3*7.3*10^14
Now 7.3*7.3 = 7*7 + 2*7*.3 = 53 approx
53*1.3 = 69 so answer is 6.9*10^15
Right answer is 6.986*10^15

they are not testing us for these type of calculations ,but if it appears product will also be there(You can check previous years(2007) JEE paper where 2.303*273*.....=..... was given)

and in genral accuracy for 2 decimal places or at most 3 is suff.

and for your info i can suggest you learn vedic multiplication it will definetly help you, where you can multiply BIG numbers easily safely and even in limited space)

there is an excitingly easy method in trachtenbergs speed system of basic mathematics for division,multiplication with speed & accuracy &also finding square roots.it will be really useful if the principles in solving are mastered.vedic mathematics is also preferable.please rate if found useful.
