If you want to buy a good laptop in reasonable price, go for DELL. They give pretty good laptops at very reasonalble price plus good serrvice after purchase. Sony Vaio, Compaq, Acer, Toshiba, Samsung laptops cost very high for same configurations.

So go for DELL

What do you mainly plan to do with the laptop?

Work? or play games?

And if so,then what kind of games?

and tell me your price range.

what are your requirements..? depends on that and even notebook's configuration...

go for hp 6730s best one for you...even i am using it..now..

No games at all?

well,if you want a good battery life,then go for the acer timeliine series,they give 8 hours of battery life.

Else,go for acer extensa series.

Try the acer extensa 4630.

Perfect for work.

If you like gaming,and want to play some casual games,go for a dell studio laptop.

decent graphic gaming (age of empire type) with occasional more intense gaming (GTA-ish).. den wat wud u suggest?

bhaavan,are you talking about gta4? or other gta's?

Because dell studio 15 would barely be able to play it,and even if it could,that would be like viewing a slideshow.

For gta 4,you need a monstrously loaded laptop...

For all other stuff like AoE,and any other GTA's,studio 15 is more than enough.

Vaio is ONLY for working,don't even think about buying it for games.

If you want a good gaming laptop,within 55k,then go for an HP dv6 1015tx or any other dv6.

You need a laptop with a good graphics card for gaming,something like the nvidia 9600gt which the dv6 has.

Vaio just comes with an integrated intel chipset,which is like a turtle in comparison.

I have a sony vaio cs17g and i play lot of new games on it ,however it hasn't got enough horsepower to run gta4.

Exactly,sony VAIO is mainly for rich business guys,most of its price comes because of the atyle.
