a car is driven at a very high constant speed v ,on a staigt road.this causes lift (L) to act on the car due to airflow.the force of friction (f) acting between the wheels and the road is

a-------zero since the car is moving with constan t velcity.
b------f=mu mg where m is mass and mu is coffi of static friction
c-----f=mu(mg-L) assuming wheel do not loose contact
d-----f=d where d is the resultant backward force on the car due to air drag and other contact forces.

explain withe reason

i think the answer is D coz the friction is there to oppose the air drag cozed by the air and thus net force becomes zero to make the car move with constant high velocity!!!!

c as the fric is given by Normal * the coeff..now the final normal becomes mg-Lso it must be c....let me know whether i am right....

friction will not oppose air drag thts impossible for heaven's sake...thts common sense...air drag itself is a kind of friction...there r 2 frictional forces 1 is air drag other is friction from the road..both will oppose rel motion of car...u r changing physics if u say air drag n friction will act in opp directions...
the normal force is affected by lift..so ans is c as i have said previously

Ans is D. Friction doesn't depend on 'weight' (this case reduced by L i.e.W=(mg-L), so C is wrong. Air drag causes additional friction.

dj
friction depends on normal force which is reduced...
air drag is a cause of additional friction only..it will not cause friction bet tyre n road..

1) talk in eng..not all know hindi
2)so what??isnt it obvious tht a horizontal force air drag never will affect the force on friction????????
friction =N for heaven's sake
