Initial velocity(u)=72kmph=20mps
initial momentum= m*u = (40*20)kg mps = 800kgmps
momentum of the 15kg mass=0
From coservation of energy,
initial momentum = total final momentum
thus momentum of the other piece=800kgmps
thus the speed of the other piece of mass 25kg= 800/25 mps = 32mps
