A current passing through copper voltameter deposit 0.0002Kg of cpooer on cathode plate in 100min . If there are 1025   atoms in 1kg of copper , electric charge delivered to the cathode in Cu ions per second will be

a) 0.75C                     b) 0.71C                             c) 1.06C                                             d) 10.06C

Mass of Cu deposited = 0.0002 kg per 100 min = 0.2 g in 6000 sec = 1 / 30000   g /sec

Atoms deposited per sec (1kg contain 1025, thrfr 1 g contain 1023) = 1/ 3000    *   1023

Charge per atom = +2e = 2 * 1.60217646 × 10-19C.

Charge deposited per sec =  (1/ 3000    *   1023)   *      (2 * 1.60217646 × 10-19)   =   ( 3.204 / 3 ) = 1.06 C..!!

ans!!
