Given that for a projectile the time is 't'. y=5t-8(t^2) and x=12t.So the velocity is:

1)5m/s

2)12m/s

3)13m/s

3) option 13m/s .....see if u put t as x/12 in the y eq ..u get the equation of projectile....and comparing with it ..u get tan theta as 5/12 .....so u have cos theta as 12/13 and hence x = speed in x direction * time ......=12*t ---->u*cos theta =12 ....that gives u as 13m/s!
