 Sir my sister have a doubt in physics .A body of mass 5 kg is raised vertically to a height of 10 m by a force 170N. The velocity of the body at this height will be.

work done = inc in kinetc energy + inc in potential energy. So KE = 170*10 - 5*10*10 = 1200J. So velocity = sqrt(2*1200/5)

I am not getting the answer the as given in book .The answer is velocity 22m/s

Upward force applied: 170 N 

Weight (acting downwards) = 9.8*5 N

Net acceleration (upwards) = (170 - 9.8*5) / 5  m/s2

                                                 = 24.2 m/s2

Assuming zero initial velocity, v(final) = sqrt(2*a*S) = sqrt(2*24.2*10)  =  22 m/s.

@KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK (I think u missed the subtracting the weight part)
