Organic chemistry is not a childs play...

U need constant practice and revision....write basic reactions on a piece of paper and stick it in your room and go through it every day...

As far as book is concerned try reading Morrison Boyd,OP agarwal!!!

Aaj ek aansoon aur peelo

Aaj ek khwaab aur dekhlo

Aaaj ek hansi aur batlo

Kya pata Kal Ho Naa Ho

Make sure you have spoken everything before everyone stops listening anything!!

When somebody asks u" Can u do it?"..just reply "Yes" and get busy in ur work trying to find out how to do it!!

Clarity of theory is a must for organic chemistry.
And equally important is attempting and solving diverse types of questions.

i agree with adi_rocks.
i too recommend Morrison and Boyd.

ill tell u d best way

step-1 select a book

step-2 read the theory and all reactions dont use any pen now

step-3 once u r done try to write out what u have read without seeing the text

i bet the third time u write all d reactions u will remember all

step-4 try to do simple ques first then do d difficult ones

i suggest try out O. P. TONDON I HAV HAD REALLY GOOD RESULTS

i was dumber at chemistry before doing it

u can test me any time now

Start with NCERT books, read throughly and understand; with this you will understand basic organic chemistry.

Then go to Arihant ot MTG's organic chemistry number of problems are given, practice a lot.

If you find that the concepts still need to be refined for problem solving go to Morrison, read the required topics to clear the concept. If you come across a doubt about reactions refer to Finar vol. I.
