This question looks so simple that a small kid can do it . believe me. practically it is so difficult, you will pull your hairs in dismay. Questions : A grocer delivers lemonade using two full 10 pint jugs. Recently, the grocer delivered to a pair of ladies who had a five pint jug and a four pint jug between them. Each wanted two pints of lemonade though. How did the grocer measure two pints into each jug only using the two 10 pint jugs and the ladies jugs? The jugs are not marked in any way and there was no other container which could be used. its not as easy as it looks. i will post the answer afterwards.

sorry, nano0101, your answer is wrong. the two pints should be in the jugs of the ladies i.e. 4 and 5 pint jugs, and not in the jugs owned by the grocer.

nano0101, please think practically in your prevoius answer you said : Again repeat step 1 n pour to 10 pint jug 1 but you cannot do this because for doing this, first you need to remove the lemonade from the 4 pint jug. where will you remove it ? nethier you can throw it nor you have any other container. please read my question very carefully as it is not as simple as it looks.

wonderful!!! nano0101 your answer is absolutely correct. i appreciate your effort in making the picture. however my answer was answer this way : If we call the two 10 pint jugs jugA and jugB, the four pint jug4 and the five pint jug5 we can do the following. Fill jug5 from jugA. Fill jug4 from jug5. Pour jug4 back into jugA. Empty jug5 into jug 4. Fill jug5 from jugA. Fill jug4 from jug5. Empty jug4 into jugA. Fill jug4 from jugB. Fill jugA from jug4. Both jugs now contain 2 pints.
