Why we have chosen current as a fundamental physical quantity spite of the fact that charge is a fundamental quantity.?????

who told you that charge is a fundamental quantity?in fact current is a fundamental quantity and charge is represented in terms of current by the relation Q=IT...and the dimension of charge from this relation is [AT]..plz do rate me as i am a new member...........

now please we all know that charge is the fundamental qty and not current as current is defined as the rate of flow of chrge
I myself had the same doubt but one of my professors told me that as current is more commonly used and is easier to handel in electromagnetics therefore as a convention to make things easy we use current instead of charge

current can be considered as a flow of charge so it showd theoritically move from -ve to +ve but conventionally it is from +ve to -ve and all our calculations are based on it so current is taken as fundemental

Well well Patel but from your discussion it follows that current is a vector quantity. Though having magnitude its direction is not divisable. thus it is a TENSOR quantity. Taking current as fundamental unit is nothing but convention and other relations are estavlished on the basis of this. If we had taken charge as FU then the relations would have varied. But we cant create any question against covention.
Hope you understand.
Plz Vote my efforts if it is useful.
