Money....called Rupee in india, Dollar in U.S.A, Euro in Europe...and nickel in goIIT!. A nickel is a goIIT currency, which is used to ask questions to an expert. Just a simple set of economic rules:
On joining you get 6 nickels to ask an expert. You spend 2 nickels for asking a single question to an expert. If your nickels exhaust, you can earn more nickels by referring friends (see link on top of the site) On referring one friendand making him join goIIT, you get 6 nickels.
Nickels are awarded on the article across the range of 0 to 50 (or more!!) based on the following parameters listed in order of decreasing priority (most important first): I. usefulness/relevance (how useful the article is to the community) II. originality (is it original or taken from somewhere) III. clarity of article IV. tagging with right keywords (reusing existing keywords) V. presentation (whether diagrams have been drawn to explain etc) Important thing to note here is that an academic article is given more preference and the nickels awarded range from 5 to 50+. For non-academic articles, nickels awarded are usually in the range of 1 to 5

Very Well explained chimanshu

The Scientist does not study nature because it is useful; he studies it because he delights in it, & he delights in it because it is beautiful. If nature were not beautiful, it would not be worth knowing, life would not be worth living. Ofcourse I do not here speak of that beauty that strikes the senses, the beauty of qualities & appearances; not that I undervalue such beauty, far from it, but it has nothing to do with science; I mean that profounder beauty which comes from the harmoniuos order of the parts, & which a pure intelligence can grasp. |
