Three friends go to the Hotel to eat food. After eating food they get the bill of Rs.30. They decided that they pay 10rupees each. So, each friend pay Rs.10.
The manager of the Hotel is cousin of one of three friends. He give him concession on the bill and return them 5Rs. He send Rs.5 to those friends through the waiter. Waiter think that if he given them Rs.5 than they fight with each other, So, he take Rs.2 out of Rs.5 and give 3 rupees to those three friends. freinds saw the cheating of the waiter.
they make total of the money
Money given to manager = Rs30
Money return by the manager=Rs.5
Money take by the waiter    =Rs.2
So. the money given by each friend is = Rs9
so,     money given by three friends is =Rs.27
money take by waiter is           =Rs.2
              total money                        =       Rs.27+Rs.2= Rs29
and they give 30 rupees
then answer that where is the 1rupee gone?

its very simple.
Money accepted by the manager from the three friends = Rs.25
The friends have Rs.3 with them.
And the waiter has Rs.2 with him.

The sum is Rs.30

einstein solved this problem too.. the trick with this question is that the amount of money to be considered changes.

in the starting.. we consider 30 Rs.
but when the manager returns 5 Rs. means we now have to consider total as 25Rs.
and onto which the waiter takes for himself 2 Rs and gives to the 3 persons .. 3Rs.

so the total is 25 + 2 + 3 = 30 Rs.

u subtract 1 from each person payment so means the people have payed 29... then also the waiter has taken rs 2 .. means the ppl have payed RS 25!!! which is true because the manager has returned rs 5 from 30.

Hello shiv_dutt36

Your presumptions are wrong. You are trying to equalize wrong things.

(A) If you want to say that Rs 30 has been spent than your calculation should be :

Now Check :

(i)   Monrey with Manager ------------------------- Rs   25
(ii)  Money with waiter-----------------------------   Rs   02
(iii) Money withe all three friend --------------    Rs   03
------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Total                                                        Rs  30

Or

If you want to say that Rs 27 has been spent than you should calculate the things as

Again you can see :     Money spend by three friends = 9 + 9 + 9 = 27

Money Money in the pocket of waiter is    = 02
Money to the manager                            = 25
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                  Total                                                      = 27

On the one hand you are saying  that money spent by friends are 27 and on another hand want to equalize it with 30/-

Actaully it is only the magic of words not of Mathematics.
