how does the critical angle depend on colour of light?

Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.

in a medium other than vaccum all the collours travel with different velocities.
since velocity is inversely proportional to refractive index critical angle varies with the colour

Critical angle is inversely proportional to "u" and "u" is inversely proportional to wavelength of light, this means critical angle increases with increase in wavelength ,therefore the critical angle for red light is more than for violet light.

these  r  bit confusing but   i  clarify

focal length  and  wavelengthh  both  r  inversely  prop  to  ref  index

n  sinc  is  inverse  of  ref  index

hope  u got it

plz  rate if useful!!

You can workout the crutical(c) from the equation

Sin c = 1/ (A + B/ l^2)
Where A and B are empirical constants l is the wave length and c is the critical angle.

sinC = 1/(A+B) this the varition principle between wavelength and critical angle where A and B are constants!!! as  varies so does critical angle for diff colours!!!
