I think NCERT and H.C.Verma are good and for applications you can opt for I.E.Irodov ,etc....

HC Verma's optics questions are damn easy. It wont make u conceptually toughest. Irodov's optics questions are really good and can surely help in strengthening ur concept.

if you are really an iit aspirant then just finish off with HCV and some corresponding books like Resnick and halliday. that is more than enough in any topic of physics in iit jee!
