Are u familiar with the phenomenon of polarization??

Brewsters angle is the angle at which unpolarized light when incident becomes fully polarized on reflection.

It gives the relation between the angle of complete polarization (on reflection ) and the refractive index of the surroundings.

Hope it helped.

see, when an unpolarized beam falls on a TRANSPARENT medium at a special value (which is brewster's angle) the reflected beam is completely polarized n reFracted beam is partially polarized
also
the refractive index is the tangent of ur brewster's angle

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADD SOMETHING MORE TO THAT
IF THE LIGHT IS INCIDENT AT BREWSTERS ANGLE THEN THE REFLECTED LIGHT IS PLAIN POLARIZED AND THE ANGLE BETWEEN THE REFLECTED RAY AND THE REFRACTED RAY IS 90 DEGREES
SO IF A IS THE BREWSTERS ANGLE AND B IS THE ANGLE OF REFRACTION THEN BY GEOMETRY B = 90-A
HENCE sinA/sinB=refractive index of material=sinA/sin(90-A)
=sinA/cosA=tanA
THIS IS THE FOERMULA GIVEN ABOVE
