virtual object isthe object at which th rays actually converge together when extra polated like in case of the plane mirror th object is not actually present there and the source forms an image for example an real image is formed inthe prescence of an virtual object this is all i know pls rate if satisfied

further it does not mean that if u place an object at the back of the mirror u would get a real image virtual object is nothing but the point intercepted when the rays interacting with the optical elemnt is extra polated
|

suppose a real image is formed of an object.
Let this image is again treated as an " object" for another lens.
Then this " object" ( which is actually an image ) is the virtual object.
U will find this in deriving equivalent focal length of 2 lenses in contact.
