of course we can see a virtual image....have u ever used a lens for magnifying things...what u see as a magnified image is a virtual image....infact truly speaking there is nothing as such a virtual object...u can only treat a virtual image as a virtual object for the next optical device; in the above case ur eyes....i think u got my point

 see to it that virtual imabe can act as the virtual object for some other optical device.


thus if you can see virtual image , it means you can see vitual object;


however there is no real existennce of virtual object;


virtual image is always derived from a real object and an optical device.
