a pt.source of light having cubic geometry is placed at the centr e of a cubic crystal,what will be the geometry of the patch that the source makes on the cubic crystal?

How can a point source have a cubic geometry. A point has no shape. Is the source emitting diffused light(in all directions) or just perpendicular to the faces. In first case it will illuminate complete inner surface of cubic crystal
