a beam of light converges to a point P. a lens is placed in the path of the convergent beam 12cm frm P.at what point does the beam converge if the lens is a) a convex lens of focal length 20cm and b) a concave lens of focal length 16cm ....

a).Position of the point of convergence from the convex lens of focal length 20 cm = (12X20)/(12+20)= 7.5 cm.
b). Position of convergance from the concave lens of 12 cm = (12X -16)/(12-16) = 48 cm
