can we see electicfeild or magnetic feild with human eyes or any othere eqipments........???
if we cann`t. how we can see the light as it is an electromagnetic wave.we know that electromagnetic wave consist of electric and magnetic feilds.
now clearly understand i am saying.
we are able to the objets because light falls on it reflects, reaches our eye`s rateena causing sensation of vison isn`t it ?
how can it be possible as light is an electromagnetic wave.
light has dual nature in such case also clarify my doubt.

finally my doubtis how light is causing sensation of vison?

hello verababu,
We can't see the electric or magnetic feilds with our eyes as it can't sense it. It may be possible with the help of optical instruments.

As a matter of fact we can't actually light but the cones and cylinders present on the retina can sense the light waves falling on it and create the sensation of image.

Yes we can basically see imagesand the light falls on the retina of our eyes.

Actually the dual nature tends to give us the beautiful colour in our vision and how it travels through space.

And, finally light can cause the sensation of visiondue to the fact that it excites the cones and cylinder cells present in our retina where light falls and the signals are transmitted to the brain.

Dude I'm no biology student (and this is no bio forum), but I know for a fact that the retina has 'rods' and 'cones' and nothing like cylinders. Also the bit abt dual nature causing beautiful colour vision seems more like baloney to me. Dont answer questions if u dont know 'anirudh1990'! :(

ya we can't see electromagnetic waves .....but there is an exception.......we can see those radiations which are in the visible range , i.e 400 - 700 nanaometer wavelength........

Hey man !!! There are a lot of rays in the electromagnetic spectrum( UV, X - ray etc)...... Light happens to be one of them falling in the region of 10-14 to 10-16...... Your question will be answered in two words, Light falls in the region of "VISIBLE SPECTRUM" so humans can see it where as bats can go a bit beyond that..... Other people answering this question said how the image forms in one's eye and din't say why our(human) eyes can detect the electromagnetic wave....This can only happen if the electromagnetic wave is in the VISIBLE SPECTRUM only....

Vera babu i am also not a biology student but still i think that we can't see em waves (We can even have a long discussion if we want that what do you mean b seeing an em waves, but i don't want it right now). We have some special cells in our eyes which can produce currents in nerve cells when em waves fall on them and it is this current that cause vison for us
