PLZ HELP ME WITH THIS : IF TWO ADJACENT WALLS AND THE ROOF IS MADE OF MIRROR AND SIVERED FROM BEHIND AND A OBJECT IS KEPT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM HOW MANY IMAGES WILL BE FORMED?????

well,this is a bit weird way i have imagined and i dont know if its right or not but here goes,u imagine a room with two adjacent side and roof of mirror,so if u keep an object in the center of the room,then try to imagine there is a line which cuts the room into two halves,u can treat that line to be pasiing through the object and u can treat it as a pricipal axes which u can rotate 360 degree,now light coming if any ,i dnt think it will be coming from the silvered side of mirrors,so there is three possible direction right,now imagine u can rotate the principal axes and now if u think the light can come from only two direction ,from above or from below the pricipal axes so i think for each mirror surface the object will form two images and for 3 the object will form six images,correct me if iam wrong,i jst though that vaguely

i think 7 is correct,there will be an image arnd the center of the three mirror for all the light rays coming from infinity the image will be formed near focus and it will be actually visible arnd the center of the junction of the mirror

NO I GUESS THAT IS A WRONG WAY AND ALSO CONFUSING.I THOUGHT IT LIKE THIS AND THIS MAY ALSO BE CORRECT 90%.CONSIDER TWO MIRRORS AT A TIME SO U HAVE THREE COMBINATIONS NOW.SO BY THE FORMULA OF IMAGES WE GET THAT A TOTAL OF 3 IMAGES ARE FORMED WITH EACH OF THE TWO MIRRORS.SO A TOTAL OF NINE IMAGES ARE FORMED IN WHICH TWO IMAGES ARE ABOVE OTHER TWO OF THEM.SO NOW A TOTAL OF SEVEN IMAGES IS FORMED.IF THIS IS CORRECT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHICH TWO OF THEM OVERLAP ?????PLZ CLEAR MY DOUBT

this is really the same way iam thinking it 2 b,and ur right 2,listen for a combination of two mirrors u jst said we will ge three images right,now iam thinking this that if u see the the situation as a whole ur seeing a 2 images at every mirror and one whole image at the junction of these mirrors splited into all three of these mirrors

i do know light rays comes from the object,but u have taken this situation to be a closed room so i thought why cant we think as light rays coming from infinity illuminating that object, i mean than the object gvng light rays will form the image on focus

Right answer is 7. Lett lines of intersection of roofs and walls be positive x, y and z axis. Let the object is placed at (1,1,1) then images will be formed at (-1,1,1) (1,-1,1) (1,-1,1) (-1,-1,1) (1,-1,-1) (-1,1,-1) (-1,-1,-1)
