does +ve value of power always mean the usage of a convex lens??

not always i think.....coz it can be a combination of 2 lenses........a concave and a convex lens.......sometimes this combination can give a positive power depending on their focal lengths

suerly if only 1 lense used then its convex (if external medium has a refractive index less than that of the lense....otherwise its character is reversed)

a positive value of power indicates the converging of light.....
any optical setup that converges light has a positive power..... that means evn a concave mirror has a positive power..... and if it is mentioned that a lens is used, then surely its nature also depends on the nature of the surrounding media....

a positive value means tht incident light is getting converged..... so this can happen if the combination of two or more lenses..... due to single convex lens or wen u have convex lens and the refractive index of the med present outside has a refractive index larger thn of the material of which the lens is made...

+P means a converging lens (not necessarily convex) or a converging combination of lenses.

P=-v/u for positiv P v and u shd be off opposite signs.. so the obj and img lie on opp sides so for any lens combination givin real images this is true
