Virtual object is formed when the incedent rays APPEAR to converge behind the reflecting surface of the mirror

eg a convex mirror is placed in front of a concave mirror. the image formed by the convex mirror of a real object is virtual as it is a diverging mirror.this virtual image now acts as a virtual object for the concave mirror

yes a plane mirror always forms a real image for a virtual object unless the incedent rays are parallel.
