the distance between sun and earth is large and the red light having least refractive index get least deviated while other components of light get deviated by large margin
the diatance between moon and earth is less and hence there is less scope of deviation of light

scattering of red colour is the least in the sky.thus sun's red colour is not scatterd v. well . therefore the reddish appearance.

hey buddy,,,,,but u shud also know one more thing.......
moon does not emit its own light.........its partly absorbed from the sun and the remaining is REFLECTED........and in that process intensity also gets reduced.......
and the color change also happens for moon.....sometimes it looks a bit yellowish.....I think its because of the same reason due to which sun appears red.......

so in my opinion due to the lesser distance between moon and earth, there is less scope of deviation of light hence u will observe moon in the colour ranging from red to yellow. while the distance between earth and the sun is large, hence there is more chance for deviation and u will observe it only as red (during sunset).
hope iam clear and correct
