3-D Geometry -Plzzzz helpp!!
None

A line through the origin makes angles ,  ,  with its projections  on the coordinate planes which are rectangular, the distance of any point (x,y,z) from the line and its projections are d, a, b, c respectively.
Then prove that

d2 = (a2 -x2)cos2  + (b2 -x2) cos2  + (c2-x2)cos2

I could do most of it, but am not reaching the exact answer. So plzz help me out guys!!!

How can the distance of a point from a line be independent of its y and z coordinates?
