None

ABC is a equilateral triangle.

D is the midpoint of AC

F is a point on AB such that BF=2AF

Area of triangle DEF is $\frac{\sqrt{2}}{3}$ cm².

Find the area of ABC.

do we know the area or the length of side of bigger triangle..

ohhhhhhhhhh! it is actually a simple q i thaught that we have to prove that the area of smaller triangle is root2/3.......that's y i was asking the area of bigger triangle......if u know one then u can find the other.....the area of the bigger triangle =4(area of smaller triangle)......and ya i have taken DE||AB from the diag it seems so

Here DE is not || to AB.
Al;so the area of the bigger triangle is 4 times the area of the smaller triangle if the triangle is formed by joining the midpoints of the sides of the triangle.

all right if they r not parallel then it is wrong........but if they are parallel then it is true......check are u not forgetting something........some prop. that u learnt.....actually it is not as big as a prop. it is a simple lobic...

yes even i feel that is it somethin like u took it from some book or the teacher gave..........some times they do expect u to take some info from the diag......but still they have to mention it....i feel that the missing part is that DE||AB

some more information is required to solve dis problem

something about E or DE parallel to AB ,
