i assume u know abt asymptotes of hyperbola
the asymp of x2/a2-y2/b2 are
y = +_ b/a x
angle b/w 2 asymp
2ab/a2-b2
but we know they are perp so a2=b2
a=b
2a=2b
so it becomes x2-y2= a2
the asym are y=x and y=-x

they are inclined at 45degree wid transverse axis'
if we rotate the coord axis by 45 in opp we get axis coinciding wid axis of hyperbola bt we are keeping origin fix
x'=Xcos(-@) -Ysine(-@)= X+Y/root 2
@ is 45 degree
new y coordinate
y'= Xsine(-@)+ y cos( -@) = Y-X/root 2

put value of x' and y'
in x2-y2 = a2
u will get the answer
