what is the eccentricity of an ellipse having foci (3,1) and (1,1) passing through the point (1,3)?

ans:sqrt 2 - 1

Sum of focal distances=2a
distance PS1=2
PS2=2root2
2a=2(root 2 +1)

also dist between foci=2ae=2 units
so e=1/a
=1/1+^{[ ]}
