if a,b,c,d are in h.p, then ab+bc+cd=

as a,b,c,d are in hp 1/a,1/b,1/c,1/d are in ap.
so 1/b-1/a=1/c-1/b=1/d-1/c=k=common diff
so ab=(a-b)/k
bc=(b-c)/k
cd=(c-d)/k
so ab+bc+cd =a-d/k=3ad
because 1/d-1/a=3k
