the sides of the square are
x-y=1
x+y=1
x-y=-1
x+y=-1
so length of diagonal is 2 units
length of side is root 2 units
hence area is 2 sq uits

It can be easily found by drawing the graph.
Draw the lines x+y=1 , x - y =1 , -x + y =1 , -x -y =1 .
The required region will be a square with side root(2) . So the area will be 2 sq. units.
The same answer can be obtained by integrating the above functions.

the vertices will b (-1,0) (1,0) (0,1) and (1,0) so calc area...wid sides =root 2 area =2

these are four lines having eqn's
x+y=1
-x-y=1
x-y=1
-x+y=1
solve these eqn's and find the int. points.
draw a graph ,it becomes easier man!!!!!!!!
It is a square of side root2 units
