u didn't mentioned the process is adiabatic or isothermal
adversities cause some men to break other to break records............i m of the other type....... :-)

Change in internal energy would be

nCV(T2 - T1)  =  nCV(PV2/nR - PV1/nR)
                 
                   =  (PCV/R)(2V - V)
              
                   =  PV/(-1)

It depends on initial and final states, hence there is no need of process to be known.
