1. A long cylindrical vessel of volume V &linear coefficient of expansion  contains a liquid. The level of liquid does not change on heating. The volume coefficient real expansion of liquid is:
2.Two rods of length l1&l2 are made of materials whose coefficients linear
 expansions are 1&2 respectively. If the difference between the two lengths is independent of temp, then:
3.In a thermo couple, one  junction which is at 0oC & the other at toC , the emf is given by E= at2-bt3, the neutral temp is (in oC):

2. Suppose the temperature of both the rods are increased by t.

New length of 1st rod = l1(1+1t)

New length of 2nd rod = l2(1+2t)

Since difference in lentgh is independent of temperature :

l2(1+2t) - l1(1+1t) = l2 - l1

l2
2t - l11t = 0

l2
2 = l11
