in the first question the ratio should be Q/U right? instead of V?

2)

st line eqn
P = mT + c
P= mPV/nR + c
nRP =mPV + nRc
P=nRc/ (nR - mV)

W = integ PdV
    = integ [nRc/ (nR - mV)  *dV]
    = -nRc/m ln (nR-mV)  from 0 to V
    = nRc/m  *  ln nR / (nR - mV)

if my steps are correct then look further--
since
nR >nR-mV
hence nR / (nR - mV) >1 or ln of that is +tive
also
nRc/m is +tive
hence work done is positve
thus
volume increases as we move from A to B
i hope it is correct

Mistake, rather, grave mistake made by me was I took P/T to be constant, though that is not the case here. It would be true if the line passed through the origin.

amazing..
if ans to 1) is c.. then dQ/dV = 1..???
as dQ/dW..is itself coming out to be..c..

if it is dQ/dU..then ans is y-1 itself..

Kishore first of all, i would like to tell you that in this forum yopu can ask only one question in a post.

The first question posted by you is wrong as deltaQ/deltaV is dimensional and dltaQ/deltaW is not. So there ratio can never be non dimensional.

In general for a isobaric process
deltaQ = nCpdT
deltaU = nCvdT
and delta W = n(Cp-Cv)dT
So if it is ratio of dltaQ/deltaU and dltaQ/deltaW then answer is Cv/(Cp-Cv)
= 1/(gamma-1) which is not an option over here.
