In context with the industrial preparation of hydrogen from water gas (CO + H2), which of the following
is the correct statement?

(1) CO and H2 are fractionally separated using differences in their densities
(2) CO is removed by absorption in aqueous Cu2Cl2 solution
(3) H2 is removed through occlusion with Pd
(4) CO is oxidised to CO2

AIEEE 2008 .....which chapter is this question from and wats the answer??

ans will be 4 . i.e. CO is oxidised to CO2

 

by this process

 

CO +  H2  + H2O[ steam]    --------------->     CO2   +   2H2

this process is carried out under presence of Fe2O3   @ 450 degree centigrate !!!
