carbon in carbon monoxide is in sp hybridised form
one sp orbital is used to form one sigma bond with oxygen atom and the other sp orbital is filled with the lone pair of electrons.
carbon uses  two p orbitals to form 2 pie bonds with oxygen atom
therefore their is one sigma and two pie bonds in CO
NOTE: hybrid orbitals can form only sigma bonds

Carbon after the formation 2 bonds with oxygen is left with one lone pair. The donation of this lone pair to oxygen results in the formation of the coordinate bond.
