 Deboleena we answer only one question per post. So I am answering "  what is oxidising action of potassium permanganate in faintly basic medium"

In basic solutions permangnate ion gains 3 electrons to give MnO2 

MnO4- + 2H2O + 3e-  --> MnO2 + 4OH-
