how NF3 a weaker base than NH3 or NCl3 or NBr3 ... thanks for the help sir...

flourine is the most electronegative element known it has strong attraction for the lone pair on nitrogen and thus the lone pair is difficult to be attacked by an acid as NH3 is basically a lewis base only!!!! there for it is less basic understood!!! Rate me if useful!!!!

basicity depends on the availability of the lone pair of elec on the nitrogen to be donated...as f is most electroneg it pulls elec fom nitrogen hence the y r less available 4 donation..hence its a weakes base
|

i agree with ur answer but if possible please provide the order of relative basic strength between NF3 , NH3 ,NCl3,NI3,NBr3 with reason.....

NH3>NI3>NBr3>NCl3>NF3
please someone verify it i may be wrong

NF3 is weak base because of higher electronegativity of florine. Florine will pull nitrogen's electron pair.
