loophole in ncert????in iit modern solution evry one has given that sodium forms norml oxide and peroxide on heating in excess of air.but in alkali metals chapter in section under oxides and hydroxides section 10.2.1 second line,(page 295),they have clearly written that sodium forms peroxide along with some superoxide.so what is the correct ans. for that question?

It's true that sodium forms superoxide too but that's in a very small amount..Oxide and peroxide are formed in majority and moreover sodium superoxide is highly unstable...So the answer has to be a and b

so does it mean ncert is wrong????????and anyways if excess air is used won't normal oxide get oxidised to peroxide
