Lapis Lazuli is a blue coloured mineral used as valuable artificial gemstone it is :
dipole moment of CO is very small (0.1 D) (inspite of d large difference in electro negativity btw C&O ) & negativ end of d dipole lies near d less electro negativ C-atom it is due to :

i'm not exactly sure bout the answer... but lapis lazuli is a semi precious stone that is prepared from ultramarine, which has the formula: Na8{Al6Si6O24}S2
:i'm really sorry bout the dismal representation...editor nt functioning....all numbers are in subscript.
the second ans: it is due to backbonding taking place in the CO molecule from O to C that reduces the dipole moment of the compound.

2) Formal charge and electronegative difference cancel each other
The reason for this, despite oxygen's greater electronegativity, is that the highest occupied molecular orbital has an energy much closer to that of carbon's p orbitals, meaning that greater electron density is found near the carbon.
