 CN- is known but CP- is not known. WHY ??

because P is very large as compared to C and cannot form triple bond as in case of CN.

 Because C N (2p-2p) overlap is musc stronger and better than C P (2p-3p) overlap

in CN- there is strong 2p-2p overlap so making it more stable 
in CP- there is  2p-3p overlap which is weaker .

notrogen can form strong p pi p pi bonds....besides multiple bonds of N have very high bonding energy while dat for P is quite less.....
