PCl5 is known but PI5 is not known. Why?
Mr.Srikant_IIT the reason for this is also the same as i given for SiCl6 i.e. as the size of iodine is very high the compound is less stable and hence not known.
tell me whether i am correct or not?
reply is must.
iodine is bigger in size than chlorine. hence due to interelectronic repulsions PI5 does not exist.
reply if i am right or wrong
