How do I compare the properties of elements not directly related? for example, how do I compare the basic nature of oxides of potassion and strontium?

Ratings do not necessarily signify that someone is good, or bad. I'm here to learn and help others learn, and a person unlocking the mysteries with the help of my solution, to a nagging problem, means more pleasure to me than ratings can ever make me feel. |

Metal oxides make good bases.
Metallic nature increases down the group.
Hence basic nature of the oxides increases down the group.

ya dude srujana is correct... more the metallic character more the basic character... and as we know that metallic character increases down the group.
2A elements will need much energy to take electrons dn 1A ones... he the oxide of K will be more basic.
