it is black obviously see black phosporpous is obtained by heating both red and white phosporous to high temp to give alpha and beta form BLACK is most stable!!!

not necessary stability doesnt refer to its existence at room temperature but is related to reactivity!!!! hope you understand!!! check for angular and torsional strain it is absent in black phosphorous!!!!

hey stability does not just mean it exists at room temperature but stability is determined by its inertness and non reactivity black phosphorous has least angular strain and no torsional strain and thus is most stable and inert!!! white phosporous has max angle strain of 60 and thus is most reactive and least stable!!!

Red Phosphorus is the most stable pertaining to reactivity.
Black Phosphorus is most stable pertaining to Thermodynamic Stability.
