salt analysis continued
sol. of Zn salt+ammonium chloride+ammonium hydroxide+hydrogen sulphide(dirty white ppt------?)
HCl+hydrogen sulphide+dirty white ppt +heat.H2S
then add Potassium hexacyanoferrate(ii)(i.e potassium ferrocyanide)(bluish ppt ---?)
2)sol. of Co salt+ammonium chloride+ammonium hydroxide+hydrogen sulphide (black ppt got)
black ppt +aqua regia evaporate to dryness(blue residue-Co,yellow residue-Ni)+water.divide into 2 parts
1 part +acetic acid+KNO3(allowed to stand without shaking) yellow ppt got what is it?
ammonium cyanate +acetone+another part (blue colour organic layer got--what is it?)
3)yellow residue+water+dimethyl glyoxime +ammonium hydroxide--dark rosy or red ppt what is it?
To be continued...............sounds like end of 1st episode of salt analysis?

1. bluish ppt is Zn2[Fe(CN)6]... ZnCl2 (i think) is formed that reacts wit ferrocyanide o giv blue ppt
2. CoS is soluble in conc HCl in presence of oxid. agent-- ie. Aqua regia..rite?
CoCl2 is formed thus....<wads this blue residue yaar?!...its soluble! i think>
yellow ppt is potassiuom cobaltinitrate...
Co(NO2)2+ 3KNO3 +2HNO2 --> K3[Co(NO2)6] +H2O +NO
blue clr in organic layer is (NH4)2[Co(CNS)4) wich is caught in acetone layer...
red ppt is nickel dimethyl glyoximate.. cant draw structure here..contains coordinate conds Hbonds.. etc... refr any inorganic chem book..Arihant for eg
