In IR spectra CO shows a spectrum of 1790 cm-1 for Fe(CO) .What can you conclude from this?

The photolysis of Fe(CO) gives Fe(CO)₅ . This is dissolved in heptane and then exposed to the radiations. The spectra of CO which is 1790 cm^-1 leads to the conclusion of imortant results like the formation of

Fe(CO)₄and Fe(CO)_{3 .}

It shows How Fe(CO)₅ loses two CO groups by radiating one photon etc.

Plus, It also indicates that the bond length of CO is different in Fe(CO)_{5 then in normal carbon monoxide gas molecule}

ya there is two types of CO groups.one is bridge carbonyl while other is terminal carbonyl ,hybridisation is dsp3 trigonal bypyramidal.if we go reaction with pyridine two carbonyl undergo easy substitution.
