let the ml requored be x and y respectively

n1 v1 +n2 v2 = N V

n1=12  n2 =3 v1 =x v2 =y  N=6 V=1

12x +3y =6 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1

also since both the solutions are of hcl, intial volume = final volume

initial vol =x+y

final volume =1 therefore x+y =1-------------------------------------------------------------------------2

from 1 and 2

x = 1/3 =0.333 and y= 2/3 = 0.667
